Last week we told you how a shooter on Kraal Road fired at police while a Scenes of Crime Team was picking up the pieces form an earlier shooting. Tonight there is slightly less disturbing but equally outrageous assault on police to report. 18 year old Jesus Ramos, a resident of Sunset Park allegedly pointed a pistol at Detective Constable Mannon Dennison. He appeared in court today where he pleaded not guilty tot eh charge.
It happened at 5:00 pm on Monday when Dennison was at a residence on Amara Avenue and heard 6 gunshots. He looked out and saw a young man running from in front of Grace Primary School to Cemetery Road. Dennison identified himself as a police officer, and set chase. But the young man pulled out a pistol and pointed it at him and then ran off. Dennison later caught him running through Taylor’s Alley. Ramos was remanded without bail because it is a firearm offence.
