It’s not exactly white collar crime, but the Chairman of Gracie Rock Village forty year old Walter Gillett was today charged for pilfering the village’s bank account. When he appeared in court today, Gillett was charged for four counts of obtaining property by deception from the Gracie Rock Village Council. He pleaded not guilty and was offered bail of eight thousand dollars with an adjournment until March 29th.
Jacqueline Franklin, the Community Development Officer in the Ministry of Human Development reported to police that Gillett withdrew money from the Gracie Rock Village Council account at the Atlantic Bank on four separate occasions. According to her allegation, the withdrawals amounted to $9,800 and they were all made in April and May of 2009. Gillett was represented by attorney Arthur Saldivar.
