Since noon, Police have been working hard on the case and the investigation has identified a suspect. Inspector Sinquest Martinez told us more this evening.
Insp. Sinquest Martinez, Investigator
“Well we know he had run-ins with the law so we are not leaving out anything. It will be premature of me to say that at this present moment.”
Jules Vasquez,
“Do you all have any suspects detained at this time?”
Insp. Sinquest Martinez,
“We have suspects but no one is detained at this present moment.”
Jules Vasquez,
“Do you have persons of interest that you are seeking?”
Insp. Sinquest Martinez,
“Yes.”
Jules Vasquez,
“Are they from the area, from another area, are you able to say from Belize City?”
Insp. Sinquest Martinez,
“Well likewise I don’t want to divulge information likewise but at least by tomorrow we should have some more information for you all.”
Jules Vasquez,
“In so far as this particular shooting, we know a lot of school kids are out at that time at 11 o’clock, there are three schools in the area, is it a an issue of concern for you all that someone would pull off a daring shooting when so many kids are around, broad daylight, all that?”
Insp. Sinquest Martinez,
“Most naturally. It is a concern for not only us but the public on a whole in that area with kids around. Any shooting we could look at what happened on Central American Boulevard, an innocent person, passer-bys, got shot. So definitely it is a concern for us.”
