Denroy Williams and Shawn Whittaker two of three persons who the police believe were in a pickup truck which ran through a police roadblock in Hattieville on Tuesday, were today charged with drug trafficking for approximately 18 pounds of weed which were allegedly thrown out of the pickup truck.
Williams and Whittaker pleaded not guilty to the charge. But no bail was granted because additional charges of aggravated assault will be brought against them. They were remanded them into custody until March 15th.
The third suspect, Williams’s brother, Micah Lee Williams, is still at large. He is believed to have been shot by police in a high speed chase after the Hattieville checkpoint. Police claim they were only returning fire from the fleeing pickup truck.
