The four men who were intercepted on Monday night equipped for what appeared to be a major crime move were arraigned in court today on a number of charges.

They Are 46 year old Taxi driver Floyd Davis from 8 miles on the Western highway was the driver and his passengers were 26 year old Belama Phase II resident Jamal Tablada, 19 year old Jarrett Usher an unemployed of Vista Del Mar and Tevin Abraham an 18 year old from Plues Street in Belize City.

They were jointly charged with kept prohibited firearm and ammunition for possession of the HK91 machine gun, and 27 live rounds for that weapon; they were also jointly charged with possession of 21 live rounds of 40 millimeter ammunition and finally, for preparation for a crime, namely murder.

Usher alone was charged for kept a Taurus 40 millimeter pistol and 8 rounds of ammunition for it. Both the pistol and the ammunition are prohibited. While Abraham alone was charged for possession of a Glock 23 40 millimeter pistol and 13 live round for it. Again both the weapon and the ammunition are prohibited.

No plea was taken and they were remanded into custody until September 16th. But the investigation continues. As we understand it, police believe they were hired to pull off a hot and they are investigating to see who gave the order and upon whom the order was to have been carried out.

They were surely well equipped for a major crime. Apart from the high powered weapons, they were found with a black cap, a black mask, a camouflage mask, three pairs of what police call battle dress uniforms, one roll of duct tape, a GPS device, one underwater flashlight, one cable tie, one compass, 8 transparent gloves and a pair of pliers.

It is of note that none of the individuals are known to by police as major criminal operators. But we do know that Tevin Abraham was implicated in the broad daylight armed robbery attempt at the Atlantic Bank on cemetery Road in March of this year. Police caught him running from the scene with a 9 millimeter pistol, just feet away from the bank. He was remanded initially and then released on bail.
