Another project of great interest is the new bridge across the Macal in the twin towns of Santa Elena and San Ignacio. The project is going ahead and in the initial phases with funding being sought from the CDB.
Today the ministry presented an artist's rendering and announced that they have gotten clearance to proceed with the project.

"We have revisited the design to advance the project because we are about to seek funding and implement it certainly next year. Essentially entering Santa Elena you will turn right into Loma Luz Boulevard and that boulevard goes and meets the river perpendicular."
Works Minister Martinez says he also expects to see the Macal bridge completed in time for the 2013 elections. We'll take a wait and see on that one.
