An woman in her eighth month of pregnancy along with her 2 year old daughter was knocked down yesterday afternoon. It happened around 4 o'clock at the corner of West Street and Water Lane. According to Matea Bol - she was walking on Water Lane along her with her baby - when a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck, pulled out from West Street unto Water Lane and hit them both. According to a number of Witnesses, the driver did not stop at the intersection and was talking on a cell phone. Today the pregnant woman told us what happened. She asked to appear off camera.

Victim
"The car knock me down when I went to buy at the Chinese shop. The driver never stops at the lane, my baby and I got knock down, the baby went underneath the car. A lady shouts and tell the driver to stop and he didn't stop."

Monica Bodden
"You guys were taken to the hospital in a taxi cab I understand."

Victim
"Yes, a taxi carries me to the hospital, the baby scratches on her hand and on her face. My leg is bruise and i am in pain."

Monica Bodden
"I understand you are also pregnant, how many months?"

Victim
"8 months. I took an ultrasound and the baby is alright, I don't want to talk about it because it's really hurt me when I think about it."

Monica Bodden
"Was it difficult last night for you to get some rest?"

Victim
"I didn't sleep all night, I am in pain all night, my back is scratch up."

Monica Bodden
"You know for certain that this man did not stop at the lane to see what was coming?"

Victim
"He didn't stop because he was talking on the phone."

Police are so far investigating the incident. Bol says she would like to thank the Taxi driver who was kind enough to take her and her 2 year old daughter to the hospital…
