In April of 2006, 38 year old police Corporal Raul Magana was killed when his car collided into another driven by BDF Sargeant Enrique Moreno.
Montejo escaped with a broken left foot, a broken right arm, and a wound to his head, while Magana was killed on the spot while his wife Marleni received a broken hand, three of her ribs were crushed, and two of her feet were broken. Their children were also injured.
At the time, the BDF soldier was northbound on the Northern Highway around mile 74, just outside Ranchito Village, when he swerved to avoid hitting a vehicle and collided into Magana's car.
Well today in Court, Montejo was found guilty of manslaughter for causing the Corporal's death. He was also found guilty of negligent harm and negligent grevious harm.
Montejo did not testify or give a statement form the dock; he chose to remain silent. The jury deliberated for almost 2 hours before it came up with a verdict.
He will be sentenced on Tuesday February15th….
