Five Caught In Marijuana Bust

Five persons, a man and four females - one of them a 17 year old minor - were charged with drug trafficking for 238 grammes - about half a pound of cannabis when they appeared today in the #2 Magistrate's Court.

The adults are Delia Williams, Ashley Aviliez, Rosemin Feliz and Darren Bermudez.

Ashley Aviliez wanted to plea guilty to the lesser charge of possession, but the prosecution would not accept it. As a result, a plea of not guilty was entered for her.

Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer offered each of them a bail of six thousand dollars and adjourned the case until April 21st.

The drugs were found yesterday when police searched a house on Raccoon Street Extension and found the marijuana.

All five defendants were in the house at the time.
