Jose Luis Robles Beltran is still in the custody of Corozal Police tonight and his case is going before the Supreme Court shortly.
Director Of Public Prosecutions Cheryl Lyn Vidal has gotten permission to bring the decisions of Magistrate Clive Lino to the Supreme Court for review.
Beltran's attorney Simeon Sampson will be served with papers to that effect in the morning. If the magistrate decision to throw out the charges of possession of counterfeit is quashed by the Supreme Court, he would have to be re-arrested and re-charged.
But we are a ways from there right now as the Registrar of the Supreme Court still has to set a court date for hearing. Until then, police have the Mexican held as they investigate the source of the twenty thousand plus US dollars he had on him.
