A taxi-man is lucky to be alive after he was stabbed multiple times and crashed into a fence in a residential area. At 10:30 on Friday night, 46 year old taxi driver HUBERT "Tall Bwai" VACARIO, was approached by two relatively well dressed men who asked to be taken to Princess Margaret Drive.
When he got unto Saint John Street - which is near the municipal airstrip - one of the men pulled knife on him and demanded money which he could not provide.
The man got angry and started stabbing him repeatedly; Vacarrio lost control of his car and crashed into the fence of a residence at 6 Saint John Street. The men then ran off, leaving him to deal with his injuries - which were substantial because he had been stabbed more than 15 times in his back.
Luckily, his injuries were not life-threatening and he is currently in the hospital in stable condition. Police were quick to respond and they are the ones who got him to the hospital - and also managed to apprehend one of the suspects.
And further to that, today in court, 21 year old Daniel Saldivar and a 16 year old minor were charged with wounding and attempted robbery. They pleaded not guilty and Magistrate Emmerson Banner offered them bail of six thousand dollars each. Vacario has been robbed twice previously in just a few months driving a cab.
