Twenty one year old Kareem Arnold, serving time for firearm and ammunition offences, was sentenced to 3 years today in the Magistrate's Court after he was found guilty of keeping 20 rounds of 9 millimeter caliber ammunition without a gun license. Chief Magistrate Margaret McKenzie who imposed the sentence, stipulated that it should run concurrently to any other sentence he is serving. Arnold, a resident of Ladyville, was busted with the ammunition on January 3, 2010. Arnold was in a yard Mangrove Street when a police mobile patrol appeared. When Arnold saw the police vehicle approaching he threw an object into the air which landed on the roof of a house. When the police retrieved the object it was a box with ammunition. Arnold testified and denied that he threw the box with ammunition on the roof. He called a witness, Nelson peters, whose testimony helped the prosecution's case.
