There was another shooting murder in the city, which happened on Friday night; we'll have that in our next segment, but first we'll tell you about an unexplained stabbing death in the city early this morning.

It happened at the La Popular Bakery Building on Logwood street. That's where employee 25 year old Alberto Lopez was found dead near his apartment -which is located on the top floor of the bakery. He was found lying in a pool of blood on his veranda around 2 o'clock this morning by his employer Antonio Barredo. He had a cut wound to the back of his head. Lopez had last been seen alive a few hours earlier on Saturday socializing with his friend Obed Davila.

He was supposed to meet his wife on Saturday in Guinea Grass village but never showed up.

Today his father - asking to appear off camera - told 7news what he thinks happened:…

Albert Lopez Sr., Father of Deceased
"When i come his boss told me that he found Albert dead about 1 o' clock this morning. It look like he was dead from Saturday and so he call his wife and we went to see him but his boss said that he is at the morgue so I went to the morgue to see him. When I came back i went to the police and the told me that it looks like he has fallen down the stairway and after the investigation it could be murder. Because one of the guys told the police that he had a lot of money on him when he came home. The police say that they didn't find any money in his pocket. So they say that it could be murder."

Monica Bodden
"Now what was his injury?"

Albert Lopez Sr., Father of Deceased
"A hit behind the head, about two and a half inch - a big burst. We will know until the post mortem tomorrow."

Monica Bodden
"As a father and being up there - trying to put two and two together. What do you believe happen to your son?"

Albert Lopez Sr., Father of Deceased
"Well the way I see it, it could be murder. I think its murder because of the way we found him laying down."

Monica Bodden
"So on Saturday he was supposed to go to Guinea Grass to meet him wife. When he didn't come did his wife try to contact him or?"

Albert Lopez Sr., Father of Deceased
"Well his wife told me that she call him. But he didn't answer. Until this morning when his boss calls her and told her that he was seriously injured."

Monica Bodden
"So you believe he might have died from Saturday."

Albert Lopez Sr., Father of Deceased
"From Saturday, because his skin start to strip in the sun."

Lopez was a baker for La Popular bakery and had been working with the company for the last 10 years. He was the father of 2 and was originally from Orange Walk. Police are still investigating his death.
