A few weeks ago the Customs Department received major praise for making a contraband intercept near Orange Walk. But tonight the department is getting the opposite of praise after contraband liquor was stolen form right under its nose.

The department has confirmed that a recently hired security guard broke into the room where confiscated items are stored and stole three cases of black label, six bottles of perfume, three vehicle radios and two sets of speakers all with a total value of six thousand dollars.

He was on duty within the building at night, and tried to take advantage of the situation by removing some louvers and getting into the room.

According to customs some of the items have been recovered, and the young man who was, quote, "politically sent", will be charged.
