Court has been disrupted in Belmopan for the past two days after someone broke in and stole a computer with court files. It happened sometime over the weekend where burglars entered on the 2nd floor as they kicked in the door after climbing up on an a.c. unit off the first floor.
It is not clear what the burglars stole because the police have not given a statement as yet, however one item taken was a computer which holds general information including court files.
The break in also disrupted a Supreme Court trial for an attempted murder. The trial was to begin yesterday but jurors were told to return instead today; they did and the trial was to proceed but attorney for the accused Michael Peyrefitte is out of the country now and so the trial is still on hold.
