When the skies opened up last night and the rains came down, it was apparently the perfect opportunity for mischief makers to not only romp in the mud, but to vandalize Bethel Primary school as well. Principal of the school, Edward Logan told Seven News that the night's mischief was widespread and the damage consequential enough to force him to cancel classes for more than 100 of its students today. ….
Edward Logan, Principal
"From what we observe this morning there was some serious vandalism to the buildings and to the pipes that lead to the bathroom and there was some tampering with the main building and even the situation by throwing urine or something or some form of urination into the building itself."
Jim McFadzean
"Mr. Logan this seems to be just a case of vandalism or has property been stolen?"
Edward Logan, Principal
"As far as we can determine nothing was stolen. Nothing of any significant value that we can identify."
Jim McFadzean
"Have you access the cost of damage that was done last night?"
Edward Logan, Principal

"We are waiting for the waters services to help us determine the extent of the damage to the pipes because that seems to be the most expensive part of the damages. We try to clear up some of the mess in the kitchen area because we wanted to make sure that we get back on track as quickly as possible. However the amount of sand and dirt that was thrown into the building and the lack of water hinder us this morning and so we'll have to wait until the pipes are fix."
Jim McFadzean
"So I am assuming that's why there are no classes today for the students."
Edward Logan, Principal
"Right."
