There was another killing in the Cayo district this weekend - and this time the victim is a 60 plus year old man. It happened in Unitedville, a small village outside Cayo - and while the setting is surprising, the manner in which he was killed is what really galls.

It was on the side of this road in Unitedville that the body of 61 year old Anthony Trapp was found.
This mashed up patch of bushes was where his body lay. His sister in law, who was also his neighbor, told us she last saw Trapp on Saturday night just before he left out for a party.
She said she was a bit worried when she didn't see him on Sunday and on Monday she became much more concerned and informed his family.
That's when a search began in the village around 12:30 on Monday afternoon.

"I was the one that feed him and take care of him but on Friday and Saturday night he went out to drink as usual but when he comes back he usually make some noise, so I know that he come back home but that night I didn't hear any noise, but it was raining also and I couldn't hear anything. So on Sunday afternoon I told my husband if he can go and call Anthony, he call out his name from through the window, he said 'bo', bo' but then after like five minutes after we heard a noise, so he tell me that maybe he (Anthony) drop off the bed, so we just left it at that because whenever he go out and drink he usually sleep the next day. So we left it so and on Monday morning my husband went to work and I did all the house work but I didn't see Anthony but I see his brother coming the shop nearby so I call him and ask him if he can please do me a favor and to go into Anthony house to see in he is sleeping."
"When he went in he says that he didn't see anybody and I ask him if he sees the bicycle and he tells me no, so it is from then we say that he is missing."

"The search began immediately like around 12:30 when my brother came over to tell me because they call him for his lunch but he didn't come and we start to look. I get into my car and I drive around the village, I went to the supermarket to ask
them if my brother had been there during the day or something like that. I went to his friends that I know he would usually be there drinking. They told me that they saw Anthony and that he was drinking with them on Saturday night. I ask them at what time and they say that it was around 10 o' clock but he wasn't drunk."
"Afterwards I understand that they had a graduation party and I went where they had the party to ask if my brother was around there and they told me yes he was there and I understand that a man had beaten him outside and he was bleeding. I came home and told my mother that someone beat Anthony and I know that Anthony is dead and that they threw his body in the bushes. It's like I just had seen what happen."
Trapp was last seen by friends around 3 o'clock on Saturday morning at this bar just couple yards away from his house.

"One of his friend came over and told me that my brother was at the bar with her dancing, I ask if she was sure because the bar is righacross the street from where I live. We went to see the owner of the bar but he wasnt at home. I went to search in the bushes that I thought he might have walk. I then went in the farm that belongs to us and there I found his clothes. So when I found his clothes there was a pool of blood there. I say "I tell you all that Anthony is dead" and I start to scream out for my other brothers and I show them the pool of blood on the ground and there was a big stone (rock) and it had fingerprints, like someone had beaten his head with it."
And even though his clothes were found through this walkway that leads to the family's farm, the body of 61 year old Anthony Trapp was nowhere to be seen.

"We start searching the entire farm but we didn't find him."

"His clothes was found on the ground?"
Martha Jones, Sister
"His clothes was found hanging from a tree, his boxers was off and we got people to help us search because it was already 4:30 and it was getting dark soon. Everybody from the village came out to help and a little girl about 9 years of age found him."
Trapp was found 38 hours later - on this roadside around 4:30 yesterday evening - His body was covered with layers of coconut leaves.
And - a cross made out of sticks, was placed on top.
He was found naked, apparently tortured and was decomposed.

"They say that they thought it was a dog on the side of the road. Whoever did it chop the bushes and a coconut leaf and covered him with it and they put a cross over it. They had the heart to make a cross."
The elderly man was seen with severe injuries to the left side of his face. He had a cut wound to the back of his head and one under his neck. He was found nude and the family believes he was raped.
Early this morning, a post mortem was conducted on his decomposed body.

"He died from head injuries, they say that he got hit at the top of his head and his jaw was broken in two areas and he had a stab wound to his back but the stab wound that he got didn't kill him it's the hit in his head and he tried to talk but he swallowed blood and that's what added to his death."

"Ms. Jones your brother was found nude. At this point the family believe that he was also rape?"

"Yes we also believe that he was molested but Dr. Estradabran never did check for that but we believe that it happen because of the way the clothes was taken off - the first spot we find the clothes and then where we find him butt naked."
61 year old Anthony Trapp was laid to rest at 2 o'clock this afternoon in United Ville. So far no one has been detained by police.
