Fire In The Heart Of San Ignacio

There was a fire in the heart of downtown San Igancio this afternoon. It happened on Burns Avenue - across from Venus Hotel around 2:45 p.m.

According to the Cayo Star Newspaper, A family of six lived upstairs and downstairs was Cano Jewelry and an Indian store. The building formerly housed the Elections and Boundaries office.

The fire started from the upstairs but the cause is not known at this time.

It did pose a threat to two adjoining structures but the fore department managed to contain it before it could spread.
