There is a disturbing report of a young boy being raped in the Cayo district - and the alleged perpetrator is a teenaged male.
The 9 year old went to police last night with his father and reported that on Sunday morning he went with a teenaged minor who lives in the same yard with him to go and chop some bushes at a farm in the village. The 9 year old said he was just watching his older neighbor doing the chopping when the teenagers stopped and offered the nine year old five dollars to drop his pants. The child said he refused and started to walk home, but the teenager - who is believed to be 14 or 15 - came up from behind, threw him to the ground and sodomized him.
A medical examination was done which confirmed that the child had been raped.
Police are looking for the alleged perpetrator who they say is 14 or 15 years old. Police say he hasn't been at his home - which, again, is in the same yard as his alleged victim.
Police expect to arrest him shortly, though, and the charge would be for an unnatural crime.
