COLA Criticizes GSU, Tells GSG To Avoid Reprisals

COLA, the Citizens Organized for Liberty Through Action and Belizeans for Justice have issued a statement on last week's police crackdown on George Street. It says, quote: "Both organizations consider the actions of the GSU horrendous and embarrassing the actions of the GSU indicate that they are becoming a gang itself." It adds that, quote: "the use of extreme force on ordinary law abiding citizens was uncalled for."

The statement also asks the Prime Minister to prohibit the use of masks by the police department. And for even-ness, the statement also calls on, quote "the young men and women that were beaten and brutalized by the police to not respond with violence."
