He is accused of robbing a BDF soldier at gunpoint and today 28 year old Clarence Grant, a fisherman from Ontario Village was charged with robbery when he appeared today in the Magistrate's Court.
Grant pleaded not guilty and said that at the time of the incident he and his girlfriend were at Belmopan Police Station detained for assault.
But the police reported that the victim 20 year old BDF lieutenant Zane Dueheney positively identified Grant as the culprit in an i-d parade.
It's a firearm offence, so Magistrate Dorothy Flowers remanded him until October 28.
The incident occurred around 5:20 p.m. on July 29. Dueheney reported to the police that he was walking on Orange Street when we was approached by his assailant who pointed a firearm at him and marched him into Trench Alley known as "Pregnant Alley". Dueheney said the gunman stole three hundred dollars from him.
