Monica Bodden Reporting
It happened here at the Shell One Stop Gas Station - in Orange Walk Town - Where 59 year old Antonio Moguel -security guard for the compound -was gunned down on Saturday morning.

According to his family it happened around 4:30 that morning.

Common-Law-Wife
"I just knew that he was working and two persons shot him. That's all I know."

Monica Bodden
"Was he robbed?"

Common-Law-Wife

"No, nothing was taken from him. The police gave me everything that he had on him. The persons that kill him didn't take anything."

Monica Bodden
"So it wasn't a robbery at all."

Common-Law-Wife
"I don't think so."

Monica Bodden
"Did he say anything to you that he had any enemies or any conflict with anybody?"

Common-Law-Wife
"No he didn't tell me anything."

Monica Bodden
"That day when he went to work he didn't mention anything to you?"

Common-Law-Wife
"No, he didn't tell me anything about if he had any enemies."

Monice Bodden
"Where was he shot?"

Common-Law-Wife
"He was shot in his head."

Moguel was shot once to the head and died almost instantly. There were no signs of robbery which has left everyone to wonder - why would someone want to take the life of this elderly man?

Parts of what occurred on Saturday morning was captured on the gas station's surveillance camera - 2 men were seen approaching Moguel -one of whom fired the shot.

Monica Bodden
"You had a chance to view the surveillance camera?"

Common-Law-Wife
"Yes."

Monica Bodden
"And what did you see?"

Common-Law-Wife
"He was taking his routine check around the compound and then he went to sit down and like 3 minutes later 2 shadows came running and one of them held him and the other shot him."

Monica Bodden
"So one held him and the other shot him? Then they leave running."

Common-Law-Wife
"Yes they leave running."

Monica Bodden
"So far what have the police been saying? Has anyone been detain?"

Common-Law-Wife
"Not that I know. They haven't told me if someone has been detain."

As this black bow hangs on the door of Shell One Stop Gas Station - his co-workers mourned the sudden tragedy of a man who had been employed with the Gas Station for over 3 years.

Common-Law-Wife
"I have two sons; one is 5 years old and the other is 2 years old."

Monica Bodden
"Was he the bread winner?"

Common-Law-Wife
"Yes he was the one that bring the money home."

Moguel was the father of two children. So far no one has been detained for his murder as police continue to investigate. It is of note that on February 5th 2010 Moguel's younger brother - 53 year old Baldemar Moguel was also shot to death - inside his store in Orange Walk Town.
