There were two murders over the weekend - one in the city and the other in Orange Walk. What's most distressing is that both of them were execution style.
We start in the city where Karl Galvez became this year's 107th murder victim. He is not known as a troublemaker or a gang affiliate, but he was marked for death on a dark street on Saturday night.
Here's what it looked like at the scene:..
Jules Vasquez Reporting
On Saturday night at ten, 33 year old Karl Galvez's lifeless body lay sprawled across the pedestrian bridge that connects south Creek and Curassow Streets.
According to reports, a gunman came riding from Kraal Road - pulled up beside the bridge, right behind Galvez who was walking with a female. Galvez and the family had just walked up unto the bridge, when the gunman simply stepped up with a pistol and shot him in the back.
After Galvez collapsed on the bridge dead and his female friend screamed, the gunman rode off into the night. It was easy for him to disappear because as this footage shows the area is exceptionally dark.
Today as his family gathered at the morgue, his aunt, Consita Beeks told us there was no reason to kill him
Consita Beeks, Aunt Of deceased

"All I have to say is that whosoever kill him, they kill an innocent person because Karl was not a person that gave any trouble. Whosoever took his life, I hope they find him and do whatever they need to do with him. If the person has to go to jail then his family will feel the same way we are felling because they don't know what they have done to our family when they took Karl from us."

"Do you think this is random or someone was set for him?"
Consita Beeks, Aunt Of deceased
"He didn't do anybody anything so they cannot set for him. Now if he had enemies then you could have said that someone was waiting for him but he didn't do anybody anything. But he didn't have enemies - well we cannot say that because somebody kill him, but for what reason, we don't know. I guess we might never know."
No arrests have been made.
