Herman Muschamp- a Punta Gorda resident - was rushed to the PG hospital last Tuesday after he was found badly beaten up, with severe injuries to his face, head, bleeding in an unconscious state.
His injuries were serious and he had to be transferred to the KHMH. But the damage was too great and on Saturday he succumbed to his injuries.
According to police, Muschamp was socializing on Monday night and sometime after midnight was seen with Clarence Coleman. Police say Coleman went with Muschamp to his house, where he was heard calling for his wife to open the door. No one answered and Muschamp - with the assistance of Coleman - climbed onto the verandah and sat on the railing. Coleman told police he then left Muschamp up there. Muschamp was later discovered by his wife, Dana Muschamp - lying motionless in front of his main door. Police are investigating.
And there was another killing in Toledo. On Friday Punta Gorda Police responded to a scene at an area near mile 64 on the Southern Highway on the outskirts of Medina Bank Village - where they saw the lifeless body of 58 year old Guatemalan National Pedro Che Pacoy of Medina Bank Village. Pacoy was seen lying on the side of the highway. According to police, Pacoy left home at around 6 o'clock on Thursday morning to his milpa and was expected to return home 6 o'clock that evening- but he didn't. On Friday morning at around 5:50, Pacoy's son, Manuel Che discovered his body on the highway. Police found bruises on the right side of Pacoys abdomen and suspect that foul play was involved.
