Twenty eight year old Mexican businessman Fernando Jonathan Sanchez Ramirez, who was busted with 1.6 grams of crack cocaine and 5.3 grams of cannabis at Phillip Goldson International Airport on Tuesday, October 11, pleaded guilty to drug trafficking when he appeared yesterday in the Magistrates court.

Magistrate Albert Hoare ordered Ramirez to pay a fine of 10 thousand dollars forthwith, in default 3 months imprisonment. Ramirez paid the fine and he was released.

When Ramirez arrived at the airport on a flight from El Salvador, a search of his luggage resulted in the discovery of the crack cocaine and cannabis.

Ramirez was arraigned on Wednesday, October 12 and he wanted to plead guilty to drug trafficking. But a not guilty plea was entered when he said the drug was for his own use.
