The parents of Teakettle village, who don't want their standard six students having their classroom in the church will be getting some real relief, real soon.

As we've reported, 11 days ago, a number of standard six students felt suddenly ill - and - while no definitive explanation was given - it sufficiently spooked the villagers who concluded that some sort of strange spirit activity had struck the children in the church, which also serves as their classroom.

Well, they demanded a new classroom and looks like they'll be getting it by next week. That's after the Area Representative Ramon Witz put his hand to the wheel and raised enough material to build a temporary classroom - with labour coming from the village. He told the press office about it yesterday..

Ramon Witz, Area Representative
"We made a commitment that all of us will come together and we are going to build a temporary classroom until their new building is completed, which should commence sometime in December or January - I have been promised by SIF. So today parents are out here, the village council is out here and many other people are out here to give a helping hand so that we could get this building together."

"We are trying our best to make sure it's completed within a three or four days. Three or four days' time this building should be up and going, providing the weather cooperates, provided that we don't have any setbacks, so we are in the process of leaving right now to go and pick up some more material and we will be back to continue the construction."

And while that was yesterday when only a frame was visible, today steady progress has been made and the building is near completion.
