This afternoon at 2:30, Tour Guide Catherine Casimiro had taken 7 cruise tourists on a tour of the Baboon Sanctuary and was returning to the city when her van was hammered in a side-on collision.
It happened one the Hattieville Boom Road a hundred feet from the Boom Bridge.
7news was on the scene and she told us what happened:..

"I see this vehicle coming indicating that he will make a right turn. As you can see Jules if he is making a turn - there are 32 feet where space was. This man came here and knock my vehicle that is park over here. If the incident happened in the middle of the street it would have been my fault because he is saying that he was going straight."
"So if he was going straight then what is he doing here in my corner. I see him coming indicating a right turn."

"She is saying that you came 32 feet across the road and crash into her. You tell me your side."

"Listen to me, you can check it from here, when the vehicle crash she went over there."
Jules Vasquez
"You are saying she was like more out, you couldn't have avoided hitting her? You had to hit her? I am trying to understand what you are saying sir."

"I don't understand what you are asking."
Friend of Tony Chen
"We came from this direction. We were going to Belmopan to get a US visa and we see the vehicle crossing and didn't stop, so we brakes hitting the vehicle."

"Where were you going?"

"To Belmopan."
Jules Vasquez
"So you are saying that the vehicle was out in the road then?"
Friend of Tony Chen
"Yes."
Jules Vasquez
"So it ended here because of the impact?"
Friend of Tony Chen
"Yes he couldn't control the car."
Catherine Casimiro
"There were some men over there, they came telling me that it was his fault because it looks like he was trying to brakes from over there but I don't know what happened to his brakes. That was what the men were saying."
"It is obvious, look how far he came and knocked me."
Jules Vasquez
"When the accident happened, what happen to your guests?"
Catherine Casimiro
"Thank God nothing major happened to anybody. Only one person got hurt and someone from the other vehicle got hurt too. I already prayed for the man. He went to see a doctor; thank God nothing happened to anybody else."
None of the tourists were seriously hurt, but one did have a head injury and had to be taken to the hospital. Police have not indicated who will be served with a notice of intended prosecution.
