A man who the court says is a repeat drug offender was sentenced to both time behind bars and given a stiff fine for a fifth conviction of drug possession.

Thirty two year old Albert Pollard, who told the court he is a paper folder at a city based newspaper, was one of three persons charged with drug trafficking of 74 grams of cannabis, and was sentenced to 3 years and fined 10 Thousand dollars today by Magistrate Dorothy Flowers, after he pleaded guilty to the charge.

The charges against the other defendants, 58 year old Eleanor Jones and her grandson, 21 year old Kenroy Smith, were not withdrawn. They were each offered bail of 3 Thousand dollars and their case adjourned until December 20th.

The bust occurred today, when members of the Gang Suppression Unit executed a search warrant in the yard of a house located at number 15 Banak Street. The GSU say they found 2 plastic bags containing cannabis in a white plastic bucket.
