Last night, 7News told you about 18 year-old Raheem Reid and a 15 year-old minor who were arrested by the GSU for armed robbery. Well tonight, they are on remand due to charges in relation to that incident.

As we reported, at around 2 o'clock on Sunday morning, members of the Gang Suppression Unit were patrolling on Victoria Street when 2 Hispanic men ran them down and reported that they had been robbed by 2 armed men.

One of the victims went as far as to say that one of the robbers hit him on the face and pulled the trigger three times but the gun failed to fire.

The GSU responded and apprehended Reid and the 15 year-old minor, and they recovered a stolen Samsung cellular phone and a 9 mm pistol which was loaded with 5 rounds.

Because the Hispanic men identified both young men as the persons who robbed them at gunpoint, police charged them jointly with keeping an unlicensed firearm, keeping unlicensed ammunition, aggravated assault, and attempted murder.

They were arraigned in the Family Court today, and due to the nature of the offenses, they were remanded until tomorrow.
