Last night, 7News told you about 91 year old Robert Griffith who was knocked down and killed on the Northern Highway.

As we reported, Griffith went to the Buca Shell Gas Station to purchase a few items. When he was walking back to his house, he was hit by a Honda Accord.

The force of the impact flung Griffith onto the pavement, which caused him to suffer severe injuries to the forehead, shoulder, right arm and left knee. He died as a result of the injuries.

According to police, the driver of the vehicle was Police Constable Tyrone Sutherland, and he has been served with an notice of intended prosecution.

Well, the case hasn't progressed any further than that because the lead investigator hasn't filed any formal charges.

We contacted Police Press Officer Inspector Fitzroy Yearwood, who told us that the police department will bring a full measure of charges when they are ready, and that they don't want to rush the process. We assume that includes driving without a license plate.

This incident is yet another embarrassment in the light of the officers from PG who were arraigned for murder.
