It's cocaine, but with a Champagne finish. San Pedro Special Branch and the Special Patrol Unit found more than 7 and a half pounds of the drug along with almost 10 thousand dollars in cash in a search last night.

It was inside the lower flat of a 2-story house, which is located in the Boca Del Rio area of the island. They found 3 men inside: 21-year-old Jaime Hernandez, a chef from Boca Del Rio; 18-year-old Ethan Bardalez, a maintenance worker of the DFC Area; and 21-year-old Leon Williams, a resident of Boca Del Rio.

They found a red knapsack in one bedroom, and it contained 2 stacks of 50-dollar bills bound with rubber bands. The cops then kept searching the house, and inside the 3rd bedroom, they found another knapsack, which contained 3 parcels emblazoned with the name of a French champagne.

But it wasn't bubbly inside, it was powder! An incision was made on all 3 parcels, and that's when the cops found a white powdery substance. The money was then counted in the presence of the residents, and it added up to $,9,600 cash. When all 3 packages were weighed, the total amount of suspected cocaine was 3.455 kilos or approximately 7.617 pounds.

All 3 defendants were arrested and charged with the offense of possession of a controlled drug with the intent to supply.
