And while there are those two deaths - there are still two COVID patients currently intubated on ventilators. We mention this, because, sadly, so far, no COVID patient has recovered once they were intubated. That is a worrying statistic, but there is hope, especially with a 42 year old doctor from the western region who has been intubated for over a week now. But, the news tonight is that he may be taken off the ventilator soon. Dr. Manzanero explained:

Dr. Marvin Manzanero, Director of Health Services

"Our colleague epidemiologist from the western health region is progressing along fairly well and they would attempt to take sedation off hopefully this weekend and that's the first step as you aim to take somebody off a ventilation mechanism and this is good news. In light of that the longer you stay hooked up to a ventilator then the prognosis can get worse. He is one of 2 confirmed cases that are currently intubated at Karl Huesner. How many cases are hospitalized? Well I have mentioned that at Karl Huesner - I know they discharge 3 patients earlier today from their ICU and they would still have 3 more that are still on supplementary oxygen."

We'll have more from today's Ask The Experts session later on in the news.
