Yesterday, acting on Special Branch intelligence police searched a home in Belama Phase 3 and found what looks to be a confectionaries kitchen - but these aren't sweeties for kids, police believe the home-made lollipops, fudge, brownies, gummies and other sweet things were infused with weed.
But - these products are so exotic that they aren't covered under any laws - so, today, Kristian Young and his grandmother were simply charged for possession of 30 grams of weed, which is about an ounce.
78-year old Brenda Vasquez and 26-year old Kristian Young, both of #10 Lauren Burgess Crescent, appeared before Magistrate, Stephanie Gillett in Court #4 this morning shortly before 12:00 noon.
They were read a single charge of possession of a controlled drug. They both pleaded not guilty to the charge and received bail of $1,500.00.
Both Young and his granny Brenda Vasquez are due back in court on November 4, 2020.
Police say they found the weed inside Young's room, and at the time he was at home with his grandmother.
