It's the most intense time in the Political cycle and with the window for new registrations closing on Friday, September the 11th standard bearers and their campaigners are doing everything they can to fill those lists.
But what happens when that list reflects irregularities? irregularities like houses with 15 residents.
It's a whispered about list padding practice but one that is carried out by both parties. And this afternoon UDP Pickstock Standard-bearer Boots Martinez told Cherisse Halsall that when it comes to this type of voter fraud residents are fighting back.
Normally on the 10th of September Boots Martinez is dancing in the streets, or even on the street, but yesterday it didn't look like dancing when he got into a shouting match with this irate PUP Pickstock campaigner.
And while it looks unbecoming for a veteran politician Martinez says it's really just a voter registration issue.
Hon. Anthony "Boots" Martinez - UDP Pickstock Standard bearer
"I do not even recall what all she said but It was about. She is a campaigner for Anthony Mahler, the situation is that her sister went to the registration officer Riva Jones to sign off that the people that they transfer and register there don't live there so she came in the yard, she doesn't even live there, she came in the yard meanwhile we are talking to Riva and the other people and started her own conversation wanted to assault her sister and I said man that is not the way then she started on off on me at me and so it is what it is with 30 add years of experience I understand that you will have your little hiccups here and there."
Cherisse Halsall
"Now, of course, Sir we came to you for context but before we did that this video is just circulating, it's obviously in the Pickstock area and people go well is this how Pickstock residents are responding to BOOTS."
Hon. Anthony "Boots" Martinez
"It is what it is and it wasn't me who told those people to come forward they came to find me to say that the people don't live here and I don't think they found me because they love me they found me because what they were promised they were not given."
And Boots says that while this incident made the issue visible it's actually widespread.
Hon. Anthony "Boots" Martinez
"Many people are going into the Pickstock office to sign off that the people don't live there. That is an interesting story for you to find out where at least you have eight people that have gone in already to sign that the people don't live there."
We tried to reach Boots' opponent Anthony Mahler for comment. He said he would call back and we are still waiting.
