As we told you at the top of the news - 24 prison escapees remain at large - while one has been killed in an exchange of fire with police and there have been recaptured.
Police believe they are between miles 17 and 31 off the George Price Highway between the Sibun river and the road.
Today, the Commissioner did a flyover in a helicopter and told us what he saw:

"At first dawn this morning we mounted our BCP's in strategic locations along the Boom road. We also this morning at first daybreak did an air reconnaissance using a helicopter. We covered the entire prison area all the way to the Sibun area. We went all the way to Mile 31 behind the zoo as the Bermuda Landing all the way to an area where I think program Belize has something down that way, all the way to nearly reaching Shipyard. With a view to see if we would find any signs of these escapees but that was to no avail."
"We continue to do our searches since daybreak we have received a number of tips and everyone that we receive we are acting upon but we still believe that the area between mile 17 and mile 31 on the George Price Highway right in that vicinity of Democracia on the Coastal road, the Sibun River area and so we're concentrating our search there. A family had reported that about 20 of them had arrived at their home last night and that they took their food supplies and left. So we are sure that they are in that area and we hope that before the end of the day we should be able to have the majority of them in custody."
"From the escapees 25 are Belizeans, 11 of whom were either convicted or on remand for murder and the others are from varying degrees of crimes and the other three are Guatemalan nationals. And so we're hoping that with the assistance of the public. And I want to take this opportunity to appeal to the general public. If it is that you have any information as to the whereabouts of these convicts to please call 911 or 922 number."
