It was the murder that launched a state of emergency. 5-year-old Pre-schooler Kia Herbert shot and killed while sleeping in her mother's arms. They were sleeping on the floor in an attempt to escape a death threat that had been made against the child's uncle earlier in the day.

That threat was allegedly carried out by two men, one of them Kendale Flores is now infamous for being among the 28 escapees from the Kolbe Foundation. The other 27-year-old Lyndon Hinds today walked from the charges of murder, attempted murder, grievous harm, use of deadly means of harm, and conspiracy to commit murder. It's due to a lack of identification and an uncooperative witness which forced the DPP's office to withdraw all charges and inform Hinds that he was free to go.

And after a quick check at the prison, Hinds was released and calmly walked out the court's back entrance and into the parking lot area.

Kendale Flores remains on remand. He is due back in court on January 8, 2021.
