This past semester has not been the easiest for students, and while many students have fallen behind, the CXC exams for high schoolers must go on.
In a memo from the Ministry of Education, the CEO Dian Maheia announced that the deadline for registration for the 2021 CXC's was extended to Wednesday December 9.
The CSEC Examinations Grant will also only cover the cost of the sitting of three exams, including English A and Mathematics. This has caused concern among students who are already facing a financial crunch due to COVID-19, since in previous years the government would pay for six CXC's. The memo ends by advising students to only sign up for the exams they feel they are prepared for. There will also be no national awards this year to recognize the top achievers.
