Earlier we told you about the new holidays, well our next story is about the business that never takes a holiday, drug peddling, and the cops managed to make a sizable drug bust on New Year's Eve.
It happens during a routine vehicular check of a Hilux pickup truck on the Phillip Goldson Highway. That's where the cops found almost 10 pounds of weed packed in 4 parcels. The occupants of the vehicle 35-year-old Akeem Bowen and 32-Year-old Kirland Phillips were later escorted to the Orange Walk police station. Here's what ACP Myvette told us about the bust earlier today.
In the past weeks, there have been several interdictions for drug-related offenses including a Christmas Eve bust involving 35-year-old Police Constable Dion Danielo Bellini made in Corozal.
The bust is valued at over $10,000 dollars.
