And while Faber will have to concede defeat tomorrow when his is scheduled to host a press conference, his party's former Minister turned "Sal' beef" salesman, Edmond Castro, says that the Blue's resounding victory hasn't quelled the frustrations of his former political opponent.
Castro claims that the man who beat him in last year's general election, Marconi Leal, ran him off the road today as he was on his morning ride.
That's a major allegation against the Belize Rural North area rep and we caught up with the Clear The Land Man shortly after he stepped out of Belize Medical Associates - where he had gone for an X-Ray. He was visibly shaken and appearing to wince in pain, and told us an incredible story of curses and crashes.
Edmond Castro - Former Minister
"Basically I was riding 50 miles, so I ride from Maskall to Boom cut off and just before I get to boom cut off to return a vehicle pull up behind me at 14 1/2 close to going towards HRCU new housing site and I look back and I identified the vehicle to be that of Marconi Leal, so he pull up beside me but very close and he start to curse at me and tell me stuff and I curse him back and I said if you no want respect yourself or you don't want to respect me then respect your damn office. The last thing he told he is I will pay somebody to broke up your RA and he took his vehicle and he was already about 6 inches from my shoulder and he took his vehicle and he swerved into me and all I could have done was to put out my hand as to reduce the impact. So then I flipped over on my back, flip off the handle and the edge of the road is about maybe about a foot and then by front wheel burst, breaks broke up, peddle damaged, I flipped over and when he did that, he drove off. So I got up after about 2 minutes or so and I stop a vehicle that was coming, luckily the person stop, one Victoria Wade from Sandhill and she asked me what happened and I told her and then I called Chester and he said, go and make the report to the police."
Cherisse Halsall
"Sir this is a serious allegation."
Edmond Castro
"This is not an allegation this is a fact, the police still have my bicycle at the police station. See the medical form here, I went to the police station on the advice of commissioner of police and I made my police report and they gave me a form for the doctor to deal with. He's the area representative, he's my area representative but every time he sees me he always, I think he is very frustrated and he is trying to take his frustration out on me, very frustrated fellow, I feel sorry for him, it's not the first time."
Cherisse Halsall
"Sir we'll have to interview Mr. Marconi Leal as well. What do you think his response to this situation will be?"
Edmond Castro
"Well I hope he stop call himself a Christian."
Now that is one side of the story, but we also contacted Area Rep Marconi Leal for his take on the incident, Here's what he told us via a phone interview.

Voice of Hon. Marconi Leal - Area Rep, Belize Rural Central
"This is unbelievable and something I would never do. For one, I don't curse, I consider myself a Christian, I go to church on Sundays, I don't curse, this is unbelievable. You know I passed Mr. Castro on the road like almost every day and I'm telling you I would never do anything like this. I don't know if he still can't over the fact that the people of Belize Rural North placed their hope and trust in me to lead them, hence the reason he is trying to tarnish my reputation but all I can tell you this afternoon is that he is lying. All I did I asked my driver to just slow down, you know what happened last night when I was coming out of the polling station in Belize City at St. John's Vianney, coming out he was throwing comments but I didn't follow him up so this morning when I saw him riding, I told my driver just pull up right beside him but I don't know if he got jumpy or anything and he just ride off the road and he stand up over his bicycle and made his call but I just tell him, just stop."
Cherisse Halsall
"But sir he is saying and I understand your position but he is saying that after this collation he flipped over the bicycle handle and that's how he ended up on the ground and you're saying that is completely false."
Voice of Hon. Marconi Leal
"I am telling you he is lying but all I ask Mr. Castro to do is please stop throwing remarks at me. The election is gone, I don't want to hurt Mr. Castro, I consider him my friend, he's a big man but I guess when he's drinking he would do things like that but I am telling you that he's lying on me, he's just trying to tarnish my name."
Cherisse Halsall
"I hear you sir, now the last thing I'll ask you is that he's not just throwing comments, the man has filed a formal police report. With your position that he is completely lying, how does he go about doing something like that?"
Voice of Hon. Marconi Leal
"I also went to the police station in Ladyville and I filed my report because when I heard about this, I said man I can't believe he would go that low."
Both men have since filed opposing police reports. We'll keep following this story
