While COVID numbers are extremely low, the number of murders have spiked over the course of this week, and all of them are gang related. At this time, the CYDP would usually step in - only that organization no longer exists. Instead, they have been rebranded to the "Behavior Modification and Conflict Management Services" which now amalgamates with the DYS. They are now planning to continue working with gangs while simultaneously providing more services for youths affected. Public Relations officer at DYS, Sabreena Daly, and the acting director of the former CYDP, Superintendent Dinsdale Thompson, told us more in an interview yesterday.

DYS will continue to offer other services to youths such as Youth Entrepreneur and On the Job Skills Training, governance and planning services, and more.

The CYDP name was first deployed in the mid 90's.
