And of course, the other things that goes in a tight historical loop - is the political blame game.

The PUP is blaming the UDP for the wrecked state of the economy - which sounds a lot like 2008 all over again, when it was the other way around.

But some statistical facts are irrefutable: and that fact is that the debt to GDP ratio was an already high-high-isn 80% in 2008; and now it's 130%.

Faber said that's because there were tough times that his party had to maneuver.

Hon Patrick Faber, Leader of the Opposition
"Well, we all know that that's a convenient position that the prime minister has to take. I don't know about the 700 million dollars, but it was no secret that are in a pandemic. We had 2 major weather conditions and so it was a difficult year. Nobody disputes that and nobody disputes now that in fact some of the financial issues that we are facing are caused by the kind of actions that we had to do in order to keep things afloat. But you know what is also true, under the UDP administration Covid was not out of hand. There was a long period of time when we fought successfully this pandemic. In fact all will bear it out that in fact it was not until the elections came and the reckless behavior was encourage by the People's United Party on nomination day and on election day itself where the prime minister himself at that time encourage people even if they had Covid to go out and vote and then it really got out of hand and so it's like you causing a problem and then you raining it back in a little bit changing the rules of the game, you move the goal post and then you say ah good boy did a good job - not to take away anything from the vaccination initiative that we are here to support today. I think it is needed and like we've always said its not about always complaining about where we are at, it's about doing our part to fix what is wrong because I want the government to succeed, I really want Prime Minister Briceno and his administration to succeed in rebuilding this country."
