Last night we told you about Ryan Foster - a police detainee who was shot to the neck - allegedly while he tried to escape from police.

The bullet that he said could have killed him came from the gun of a police officer.

That officer had later been detained and charged with wounding. Senior Superintendent Hilberto Romero implied that he had misrepresented the facts to his fellow officers about the details of the shooting.

But Foster was of the impression that the officer was trying to claim that he had been shot in the foot instead of the neck - or at least that's what he explained to us when he visited our studio today. He gave us his version of what happened and said that he believes the officer was shooting to kill.

Ryan Foster, Shot by police
"While I enter Raccoon Street police station, I was wanted for one little theft, of a grand theft, I exit the vehicle and we gone into Raccoon Street police station in the yard so now when they said for me to wash my hand in the bowl, I wash my hand in the bowl, so while washing my hand in the bowl, I run off and I run around the building and was going towards the back gate because I didn't want to do the 48 detention because they already said they didn't find anything in the vehicle, so I didn't want to do the 48 because I done watch all those things so I said directly they go call a state of emergency because of all the killings going on so I was trying to avoid the 48 hours. Meanwhile I was running, the police officer yelled, stop I will shoot you! So I didn't stop. As a police officer they should fire warning shot, they didn't fire any warning shot, the only shot this man fired, while my back turned, and this is what it caused."

"The police didn't shoot me in my foot, they shoot to kill me, it was one shot and that shot was direct to my neck."

"And when they done shot me, I end up reach on the back of my dad verandah because my dad doesn't live far from the police station so I reach back of the verandah, hiding, I was already shot, my bullet, I was holding it, the police didn't find me, I hand in myself. While I look so, I notice a lot of blood and I look in the mirror and the blood was pulsing too fast. So what I did, I walked downstairs and I give up myself to the officers. And that's how when I render myself, the police officer grab me at the back of my shirt and through me headway when I done get shot in my neck. And he still handcuff me to the pan of the vehicle and wait there like he want I dead. And I have witness to say everything and to show the people what this police really do."

Courtney Menzies:
"He told you he would shoot you and you were running, you're in the wrong."

Ryan Foster, Shot by police
"Yes but at the time they didn't have me in the diary to say I was detained so when they said I escape unlawful custody, there's no way I could escape unlawful custody if they didn't have me put down in the journal book."

Courtney Menzies:
"The police officer that shot you, he is in custody, he was charged actually, with wounding."

Ryan Foster, Shot by police
"Now I want know how they will charge this police officer for wounding when this man was looking to kill me in my neck."

Foster went to court today for the theft as well as for escaping lawful custody. He was given bail of $3,000.
