On Friday we brought you a generational tale of violence, the murder of 17-year old Gerald Tillet Jr which followed the likewise brutal deaths of his father Gerald "Shiny" Tillett and Uncle, Sheldon "Pinky" Tillett.
And as we told you at the top of the news it may well have been the cause of that George and Church street retaliation.
Speaking to the cops this morning, we got more details on this terrible prelude to a very bloody weekend and the young man thought to be responsible.
Sr. Supt. Hilberto Romero

"Reference the murder of Gerald Tillett which occurred on Thursday, we have since arrested and charged Kalief Caceres, eighteen-year-old Belizean laborer of West Street, for the crime of murder."
Reporter
"Okay, is this young man affiliated with Pregnant Alley or the Taylor's Alley group, as the case may be?"
Sr. Supt. Hilberto Romero
"Yes, he is affiliated with that area."
Reporter
"Okay, is there surveillance video?"
Sr. Supt. Hilberto Romero
"Yes, we are looking at surveillance video. We are reviewing it and are gathering further information with regards to this murder."
Reporter
"Sir, you haven't answered if the George and Church Street shooting is a direct retaliation of this."
Sr. Supt. Hilberto Romero
"Well that is a possibility but we are not certain. We are seeking other suspects in regards to this shooting. All the information we have is that these persons were socializing and persons came there and fired the shots."
We note that just last week - the police commissioner and his minister were optimistic when they presented the declining numbers of major crime numbers - but, call it "goat - mouth" or just plain bad luck, as you've seen those numbers spiked terribly this weekend. We were hoping to catch the commissioner to discuss today - but he told us he had a busy schedule of meetings to attend.
