And further on in our conversation with Laddie Gillett's Guardian, we asked him how the family is dealing with all the outcry on social media:

"We're just trying to keep a steady head and focus and trying to be positive. It's hard to be positive in this case but doing the right thing it's easy to get carried away and make noise, we're not into that. We're getting the support from our friends, like I said Laddie was famous at his school play, football, he was such a good player, everybody know Laddie. There is no one I could think would come up and say Laddie was a bad lee bwai that kind of thing. Yes he was a clown, he was funny, tantalizing, that's it. He's still a kid, he's still 14, this is what you expect from kids at his age. I can't see how this officer could justifies this."
