13 shots! So was it gang related? Our sources say yes. Now, many of you might be saying - "are there even gangs in PG"? Regrettably there are. And tonight police are looking for a teenaged suspect who sprayed two men with maximum firepower - basically emptying his clip on them.
We asked the police spokesperson about it today:
Reporter
"It's not a robbery. There was nothing stolen from what I understand. So, then it has all appearances, I understand 12 expended shells were found, it has all appearances of what we would call an execution or a hit. What was the motive for it?"
ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, Police Spokesperson
"There were excessive, expended shells found on the scene and we know that we can rule out robbery indeed. But yes, it would want to suggest that we are looking for persons that may have some kind of grievance with these people."
Reporter
"Might it be a retaliation for a prior murder in that town?"

ASP Fitzroy Yearwood
"We cannot say that for sure but I know that one person of interest is being sought, known to the police. Hopefully if we find this person then we could give you a clear cut of what is the motive behind this double homicide."
Reporter
"Is this a gang related murder?"
ASP Fitzroy Yearwood
"Well to be honest, if we look at the ages of the victims we would want to say that this murder would want to point in the direction of some sort of like I said grievance or maybe old encounter as we called old beef."
But, ASP Yearwood says that the Canelo's may have put themselves in harm's way by operating what is called a "knock-knock". That's the kind of establishment - and there are many of them - that operate after curfew hours as a kind of speak-easy. Yearwood discussed the dangers and the police enforcement imperatives:
ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, Police Spokesperson
"Curfew started at 9p.m. We know that establishments should be closed one hour to allow the employees to go home. So the first thought that comes to me is that we are not adhering and enforcing the curfew laws enough. For people to be walking out there almost freely, well freely in this case, some fifty minutes after nine o'clock. So one: we will have to revamp the strategy when it comes to the way that area is being policed. Two: from the person would open a door to an establishment would suggest that it is a regular practice, so then we would have to look into what we would refer to as knock-knock stores and bars."
