And while we don't know where he'll go now, we do know where he was on Saturday night: at the Independence police station picking up his nephew's wife– both of whom were caught in a vehicle with ammunition.

Now, there's been a lot of back and forth on this issue. When we asked the ComPol if Vidal had gone to Independence to release Epifania Caliz, he said no. And later, after the police diary entry was leaked, he said he was the one who ordered her release because she shouldn't have been locked up in the first place.

And, fine, we accept that. But did ACP Vidal's presence at the police station influence the other cops? He is after all, the third in command of the department. Well, last night on Uncut, the ComPol conceded he shouldn't have even been there.

Chester Williams - Commissioner of Police
"I was told Mr. Vidal was going to Independence to pick up the lady and the child they have been released, so I called Mr. Arzu and I said to Mr. Arzu, please don't have Mr. Vidal go out to the police station if he is coming to Independence and that time Mr. Arzu said to me boss, Mr. Vidal is already here and I am speaking to him outside. I asked him, is Mr. Vidal doing anything to try and influence, he said no boss, we're just having a casual conversation, I said okay and that was it."

Jules Vasquez
"Should Mr. Vidal, he's effectively the 3rd in command, should he have kept himself away from that police station?"

Chester Williams
"I don't think that was a wise move to do, I would not have done it."
