Tonight there are reports of another shakeup in the police senior command. Or, this one might be a remix...
Reliable reports tell us that Assistant Commissioner of Police, Alden Dawson - who was transferred to the National Crimes Investigation Branch on Monday - has now been transferred back to the Commander of Management Services Desk. He had been transferred out of that desk on Monday to hand it over to ACP Marco Vidal, who was removed from the Commander Operations desk after 4 of the 7 members of his strike team were charged for being involved in the landing of a drug plane.
It was a puzzling transfer at the time and last night on Uncut Jules Vasquez challenged the commissioner on it:
Jules Vasquez
"Why did you reward him with a lateral move to take over another commander's post, put that commander in an extremely uncomfortable position where he is under another ACP?"
Chester Williams - Commissioner of Police
"Again you have been misinformed, you should have asked me these things Mr. Vasquez."
Jules Vasquez
"Didn't Mr. Vidal take over the command desk for Mr. Alden Dawson?"
Chester Williams
"Mr. Vidal was moved to commander management service, Mr. Dawson is not working under no ACP, I sat down with Mr. Dawson this morning and I had a very good talk with him, I explained to him what is his purpose and how he is suppose to work. So for you to say he is working under another ACP that is not true. Mr. Myvette goes on leave very shortly, Mr. Dawson has extensive experience in investigation and so he had been placed to work with Mr. Myvette, not under Mr. Myvette, so that he can understudy Mr. Myvette."
Jules Vasquez
"You only have one big desk."
Chester Williams
"He is is another office, they are not in the same office."
Jules Vasquez
"Only one person can be in charge at a time and I am right."
Chester Williams
"You are semi right."
Well, Jules may have gotten it right last night, but by today even that inside knowledge was wrong, because as we told you - according to reliable reports - Dawson is right back at management services. At NICB, he would have had to understudy the acting commander for 7 months before he retired. So, where is ACP Marco Vidal in all this? Well, that is unclear, but his current posting appears indeterminate at the time.
