A tragic freak accident took the life of Edwin Sho earlier today in Roaring Creek. Sho, an employee at Belize Telemedia Limited, was working at the top of a BEL lamppost when it snapped and he fell. Sho died on the spot.

A release from BTL expressed condolences to Sho's family and explained that DIGI along with BEL and all relevant authorities are conducting a thorough investigation into the incident. The release says, quote, "This is undeniably a horrible incident that has never occurred before." End quote.

Another release, this one from BEL expressed the same sentiments, saying, "Our BEL Family also extends our sympathy to Mr. Sho's colleagues and friends at BTL." End quote.

Sho had been working at BTL since January 2017 and was working as a Service Operations and Maintenance Technician in the Consumer Sales and Service Operations West Department.

But if he looks familiar to you, it's probably because Sho is a popular Maya musician. His song, "Caldo Cax," which is sung completely in Mayan, had made its rounds on social media last year.
