But Belize City isn't the only area where crime is rampant. After violent incidents in Seine Bight, the ComPol took a trip down there last week. He had a meeting with the residents and today told us how they will improve police presence in the village.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police

"That meeting, I must say went well, it was well attended and the villagers are willing and ready to work with the police and so certainly there are certain things that we would do from my office to ensure that the level of policing in Seine Bight is improved which includes increase in the number of officers in Seine Bight, we're going to have a senior officer in charge of Seine Bight itself with a complement of NCO's and constables to do the work that needs to be done. We're going to be looking at community policing programs and new community policing officers have been assigned to the village as well to push those program, we want to look at the Cadet program for the children, we want to look at neighborhood watch as well as the citizen advisory committee for Seine Bight so that way we have the villagers participating in terms of how the village is to be policed with the police."
