Last night we told you about the murder of 23-year-old Carrel Sanchez. He was killed in a shootout between rival gangs on Tuesday night.

But, this was no drive-by. Police say Sanchez and other gang combatants were inserted into another gang's turf - and opened fire on their rivals.

But, who inserted them? Repots suggest it was a police officer attached to the special branch unit.

Yesterday, the commissioner conceded that there is something to the report:

Chester Williams - Commissioner of Police
"When the police got there, the shooting had subsided, the cross fire we believe was between the group that went there and the guys from the area. Yes, I'm going to tell you this and I'm not going to hide it, we are getting information that a police officer is involved with the PIV crowd that went into the area. We have not confirmed, at this time it is information we have received and the gang task forced has been tasked to look at it very carefully and if it that we should find that indeed a police officer was involved, he certainly will be dealt with."

We'll keep following the story to see if any charges follow.
